Took the wife out for some local entertainment to see Double Threat play at Mulligan’s North Bar and Grill in Northeast El Paso last night. I first caught these guys at the House of Rock Live back in June, but didn’t really get the shots I wanted because I was in a rush to get to another venue. I am glad I went back for more last night, because these guys really rock. Mulligan’s has a floor-level stage and decent lighting (could use a little more front lighting). I had to break out the flash for this event (with the permission of the band), and most of the images were shot with my Canon 50D, ISO 800 with Sigma 50mm and 85mm f/1.4 lenses. The flash was a Canon Speedlite 580 EXII on manual at 1/32 (plus or minus) power with a Gary Fong Cloud Diffuser attached. Flash was set to second curtain sync to catch the lasers and ambient lighting as much as possible.
